I know there are quite a few of you guys that have had life long cars. I bought this truck all original when I was 14, dad and I spent the better half of 2 years getting it on the road. It's been through hell and back with me driving it hard but she still comes back for more.

In a round a bout way it changed my life for the better met tons of great people, lead to buying the gizzle hopper dragster, which ultimately led to meeting my wife. Both the dragster and the truck were at our wedding. I have some updates planned down the road but gotta finish some new house stuff first.

Let's see and hear your stories of long time owned cars and trucks. 20240414_163844.jpg 20221024_112949_Resized_Screenshot_20221024-092938_Photos.jpeg 20221024_051705_IMG_1810.JPG

    Nice truck
Got my first car when I was 13, dad gave it to me and helped me get it running and road worthy.
drove it through my high school years,
    wish I still had it

  3. There is something special about a long term relation with a special car or truck, I hope you continue to make memories for many years to come. HRP

    Grandad bought this new
Dad learned to drive in it....he shared that his first attempt went straight for the ditch
I have childhood memories of the grandparents coming to pick us up at the train station and taking us to their house during visits to them in the 50's
I brought it home in '72 with just over 60k miles on the odometer...it has been over twice now with a later model 216
She is a good old gal that always starts and runs... I feel fortunate to still have it '39 chevrolet front.jpg

Dad bought my '40 Std Tudor in early 1965. I was 10 at the time. Has been mine since 1979.

I have had my 56 for 13 years now and my kids have pretty much grown up in it over the years. Lots of road trips to remember. I also bought it right before we adopted our two girls from India so it has been in the family since they have. I also just bought back a car that I built to be my younger brothers first car in 91. It is a couple years OT for here but also has lots of memories.

I bought my Austin 100% original also back in 2010, but right from the time I saw it for sale I planned on drastic changes. I was driving it in 6 months, then stripped it down the next year and finished the paint and interior.

  9. Bought my Rambler wagon off an old man that used to work on my dad's '47 Harley. Paid $650 dollars of my corn detassling money for it the summer of '91 when I was thirteen. Now I'm 46. I still drive it often. Almost a daily driver some summers. People try to buy it off of me all the time and they make realistic offers. I try to tell them the offers are fair but it's MY CAR. If I sold it for three times what it's worth I still wouldn't have MY CAR. I can always make money if I need it.

  10. Brenda's grandmother Jessie bought this '54 Ford Ranch Wagon of the Blue Ridge Motors showroom floor here in Anderson, South Carolina and it was her daily driver & delivery car for her flower shop, Brenda learned to drive in the wagon.

It has always stayed in the family for 70 years and it passed from her grandmother, to her dad and then to her, I rebuilt the car. HRP

  11. My avatar has been on the family since 1971. Dad built it and finished it in 82. I got it in 2006 when he died.

I drive it too hard and use it like a truck far to much to worry about shiny paint!
