Hey guys, I haven't been around much for awhile, but I though you all might like to see what's happening out at the GNRS this year. These are just some cel phone pics I took today (move-in day). The show officially opens tomorrow. I'll post better photos later took with a real camera as I get a chance.

This is it for now. I've got a gig tonight I need to get ready for and head out of here for a soundcheck. Tomorrow I'm planning on heading back for more. I'll post more photos when I get a chance. 20250130_104910.jpg 20250130_104928.jpg 20250130_105058.jpg 20250130_105110.jpg 20250130_105304.jpg 20250130_105358.jpg

So the green 36 roadster, is the top foldable or one piece lift off. I love the brightwork trim around the back and the door openings. I can't say I have seen that done before. Has to be a lift off but do they allow that not he AMBR cars? I would think they would have to retract. Asked out of ignorance but with a good heart.

  17. On the picture of the show board for it, under upholstery it says it is a lift off. I dont think there has ever been a rule to even actually having to have a top on the car, just has to be a "roadster" (I think have seen a cabriolet in the running once). The top is just extra points in judging, that is why it drop top show cars show with the top up, you gain points in judging. Sunday is the day you can usually close the car up or let the top down if the car looks better that way, but if the judges need to look your car over last minute that could hurt you. I know when we had the 56 at GNRS, on Sunday morning the entire judging staff went over our car after we had dusted it.

Makes total sense buddy, thanks for the add. If I was a judge I would award high points for an "onboard" top. It just make the car more of a car in my opinion and less just art. Lift off tops (I have had two vetted with them) are practically worthless as drivers, IMO. But then again, consider where we live! An onboard roof is a bit mandatory in the PNW.

I once left my T-Tops at home so I could make room for my golf clubs in the trunk in one of the Bandit TAs. That day ended up with me soaking wet and sitting in a puddle of water. Squishy!

I would make a lousy AMBR judge.

:D :D Just taking a break from the action. Then I had to have heart bypass surgery last fall, I was down for 3 months recovering from that. Really just getting back into things now, able to go out for a full day like this.
