It looks like '55 & 56 will fit (Hollander) but might anyone know if other years or divisions will work? One of the goals is to run 5 on 5 wheels. I suspect Olds spindles are similar. Thanks in advance.
Don't know what car you're talking about or exactly what you want to do, but 1958 upper and lower control arms along with 1963 spindles have been used to convert older Pontiacs to a ball joint suspension. https://www.pontiacsafari.com/L1Garage/BallJointConversion.pdf
Yup, Definitely have a copy of that old Rodder's digest article. Just try to finds a set of lower '58 control arms in a salvage yard!
just looked in Hollander. Interchange number 343 fits 1958 Pontiac without air suspension only. I would bet that if you needed some that French Lake auto parts in Annandale Mn would have them
58 Pontiac lowers are extremely hard to find. French lake wouldn't even put me on the waiting list for them. Been looking for over two years. Evil Bay has a set right now, and the seller just dropped the price to $1200.00. I have a set of 58 olds uppers, but the lowers are different and will not work on the earlier cars. Might fit 57 Pontiac if Mark says so.
Thanks. You are right, FLAP did have both L&R, sold for $125 each recently: https://www.ebay.com/itm/135455103739
Seems that Rodder article says the '58 Olds arms interchange with Pontiac. Those are super hard to find as well. A 1 year only deal.
