Technical Carb question

  1. Any one have ideas how to remove the small ball in the bottom of the accel pump that is stuck on a Holley?

    Actually, I think the poster was looking for more specific information. Holley 94's came in a variety of flavors depending on the car they came on. There are basically two kinds of Ford 94,s early ones with no vacuum port (for the Load-a-Matic distributor) on the back, and later ones with the port. The model numbers vary with the year of the car; there are "91-99", "59A", 8BA", and "EAB" variants, among others. Your avatar shows a '53 Ford, if that's what you have, you need an "EAB". You can use other variants and they usually work fine, but to be correct, you really should have the right one. The model ID is usually cast right into the carb body. There are also generic replacement carbs with no model designation. Later model 94' will bolt on and feature larger venturis, spark valves and dashpots.

    May try a little CLR in the passage. Hold upside down and tap lightly with a hammer.

    Some panther pee, as suggested, then I have had luck holding upside down and tapping it firmly on a block of wood. Try to hit it square.
    Of course, remove the little spring holding it in place.
