Okay, the story... This year they are celebrating 100 years of Barris. Georges daughter Joji is here and theyre selling G.B. signed books for 15 bucks and had a model kit and a few other things. I grabbed the model kit to build with my kid, it was only ten bucks and he has never built one before, fun father/son project! Then I see an older book on the table, only one...

I ask if its for sale, they call Joji over and she says "Ohh that ones out of print. Its actually out of our family library." I said of course, I understand. Then she says "You know what? Give me 45 bucks for it, Im ready to let it go." Of course I pony up fast as I can, She then offers to sign it for me if I want, Of course!

Then she says "Hold on right there." I say okay, she goes away and comes back with her purse... she says "I have a present for you." Then she hands me the small interior Barris badge. The guy selling stuff with her shouted "what!?" She said "Oh, he will enjoy it more than I will." I thanked her profusely and thats the story behind the badge.

Now that I see your pic, we were in Building 9 at the same time, who could miss that hat? Once or twice we had to move around each other to take photos. I think around the Munster coach for one, maybe around the Batmobile. Building 9 is great, isn't it?

Thanks for the photos, nice job. Your Joji Barris story is great, I think that book you bought is unusual to find in hardcover, I imagine there were very few produced. Look at the way a softcover was trimmed and glued to the h/c binding. And to top it off she gave you a genuine, treasured momento from the shop.

 

Yeah thats why I wear it! They ars incredible. Golden sahara and hirohata too. Really surreal! Say hi next time you see me!

 

It has been a trip I will never forget!

 

No one should ever be judged by the choice of shoes they are wearing, of if the cuffs are rolled up, but this is a classic picture of two distinct styles of shoes and pants!
