I just looked through a book of cars and it is hard to tell because most of the pics are from old car ads but some possibilities that look somwhat close are oldsmobile, kleiber, maxwell, moon, studebaker, velie like I said it is hard to tell from the old pics but perhaps you can find some better ones online somewhere. I was thinkin' Buick, too- I've seen one around town, hadn't known they made them that early, but somehow the "Buick" print on the tailgate told all. The cowl looked as long in the front. Buick's my guess. What a fun lookin' project, either way.

I google-image-searched a ton of cars from the 20's and I really think it's a Dodge. The firewall doesn't seem to match, but the shape of the cowl is only even close on a 24-26 etc. Dodge Bros. All other makes have a much rounder cowl, or sometimes even a peaked cowl.

Example of a 24 Dodge: http://www.yocc.org/images/dodge24.jpg

Isn't it possible that this is a firewall from something else? Being a hot rod, maybe he had some oddball 1920 something firewall lying around and acquired this body, whatever it is, and used them together.
Think about how many people there are that use Wheel Barrows as firewalls. This might be a home made firewall, or something from one of those companies that never had a chance. There were alot of them. This might even be one of those bodies.

It is a 1922-4 Overland touring (front half). I bought one for my yard display. Overland later merged with Willys-Knight and later became Willys. The windsheild posts are strong and anchor to the subframe. The doors have hidden hinges. There must have been a big dealer for these Overlands here in the south central part of North Dakota or North central South Dakota because I've found a lot of them in the area. A couple years ago I was at an auction in Mobridge, So. Dak. and there were 8 or 10 of these bodies at the sale. Several "old" car guys all said they were Overlands. I later found good pictures of the body and firewall which matched the one I have. overspray [IMG]
