Guessing I have had over 100 Chevrolets (or at least GM cars) mostly 72 and older and only a handful of Fords. My dad worked for GM for 28 years, my brother has worked for them for probably 25 years now and I worked there for about 5. I definitely grew up supporting the folks that put food on the table. :D

Funny, I have had many Gm's. Now I happen to have my 56 F100, and a old Furd plow truck. Couple days ago A guy who I just met said to me "well, you obviously are a Ford guy..." Wow that sounded funny, well whatever, I actually have owned 'em all and like 'em all.

  3. @chevy57dude ....Steve, you & I need to talk. I now have 3 trailers. I haven't used the 3110 Featherlite open trailer in over a year & once the new enclosed one I just got home with an hour ago is set up with my custom mods, the one you saw at Lloydfest 2024 will no longer be in service!!!!

@Truckdoctor Andy ......Jeff @guthriesmith will definitely fit in ! He reached out to me last year when he found out he would be in my area for work. We got together for dinner & had a great time! I hope he does make it to Lloydfest 2025!

    God Bless

    WOW!!!

I just found this. I thought I had been looking diligently for a Lloydfest2025 thread but obviously wasn't looking well enough.

Sherry and I plan to be there again.

@Lloyd's paint & glass; if you don't post any valve cover racer rules I'll try to bring something out of the ordinary. If you do post rules I'll just have to conform.

In the 2024 Lloydfest thread I mentioned that I had the same cabin reserved for this year. I called today just to confirm and found out that I really hadn't reserved it. Rectified that and now it's reserved for us for sure. Almost had a faux pas of major proportions. But now all is well.

As they used to say on the radio in drag strip ads "be there or be square." See y'all there.

Thanks @Lloyd's paint and glass for putting this on.

    Right on, Bill!
Lloyd is probably busy saving the world from an inferno right now.
Maybe saving some little old lady's cat from a tree.

  11. Darn right Bill and Steve! This is the best event of the year!!

LLoyd, any chance there will be any straight line go fast opportunities? Other than valve cover racing that is. If the local track isn't an option perhaps the guys with lights on their cars that don't fight fires, might be able to suggest a way to make that happen. With proper supervision and planning street racing can be done safely and provide entertainment. Nothing sanctioned and done in good sportsmanship it would be fun.

Nah there's no local track in my county, I moved. The track from 2023 closed. Getting out on the highway here is at your own risk lol. If you do decide to put on a display of power, go down the road, because the park belongs to the fire department, and i don't wanna lose access to it because of complaints lmao! I retire in July, but I've put dibs on the park for the weekend after labor day until I'm dead :D

So, that means that we're going to meet up at the park for a whole lot of years. Gotta love it. :):):D

No, the one that closed was an 1/8th mile and about two and a half miles from Lloyds old house. It's a real shame that it went down. That was probably one of the greatest locations for a dragstrip I ever saw.
This one is South of Lloyds about 15 - 20 minutes.

Yeah clay city is still running. I go over when they have gasser races, but for the most part it's all late model cars and diesel trucks. I'm not interested in any of that stuff, you can only watch so many dodge challengers and dodge diesels lol....

  20. Drag racing diesels is like putting a Clydesdale in the Kentucky Derby.

I've done the math and there is just no way for me to make that trek with a car this year. But I would like to support the gathering and I see Lloyd mentioned there would be trophies this year, I would like to provide a Bandit Garage built trophy if that is acceptable @Lloyd's paint & glass
