Oh, and to make you feel better. I was somewhat seriously considering a 41 Ford pickup that seemed like a great deal last night. Pretty sure I have the same sickness.

A friend in hs had Oldsmobile’s version, the F85 with the 215, 4spd. Amazingly fast for what it was. Your car is very cool, and in superb condition. Those full wheel covers look damn good to me. I’m not sure the dog dishes would do it any favors. But I get it, gotta keep the addiction fed.

    Great looking Pontiac. Congratulations.
We are all infected by the car bug and thankfully there are so many ways to be sick.
Know motorheads that only collect parts while others collect projects. It's all good.
I have had beaters and a few really nice cars. I prefer beaters
I can't have nice stuff. Not in my DNA.
The last 10 years all I do is part out cars and buy out estates, groves, barns, scrap piles etc.
My happy place is in a sea of junk and at this point of my life I only do what makes me happy.
I'm a car guy who doesn't have a car to drive. If that's a problem it's not mine.
Do what you enjoy no matter what that is in the hobby and life.
In the end that's how it should be for anyone.

That is a beautiful car. I remember the first time I was introduced to a Lemans with a transaxle. A friends uncle had his at a family gathering I had been invited to. Uncle knew I was interested in cars, he got a kick out of asking me to check his tranny fluid level then opening the trunk lid to get to the dipstick.

You know you've got the bug when your garage and shop are full, and you have one parked in front at the curb, but you still buy another with no room for it! Then when you bring it home and your wife asks where you're going to store it? And you start calling friends, or looking at what you have and wondering which you'll sell.

The great thing about this addiction is just when you think you can kick the habit someone tempts you with another fix or the memory of happy you were when you gave in to the addiction and you are right back at it. I had a 64 Tempest convertible when I was 18. The car was rode hard and it showed. Banged up corners, faded paint, and a 283 with a 2 speed power glide that had been swapped in. It was fantastic and all of the good memories just came flooding back. Oddly at this very moment, I don't recall any memories that aren't good about that car. Not sure how far you have to go to get it, but if you need a hand, holler.

No, I bought the car a few weeks ago, then bought the Caps shortly after.

    Remember….the Vision.

But the next item post I bought a couple of years ago just because it’s cool and yes instantaneously with closed eyes seeing the Tempest.

It's not an addiction if we can quit. I know I can quit any time I want. But, why would any of us want to?

It's fuzzy. But I think it's getting clearer. I see shapes.
    Dog dish hubcaps.
    Hood scoop.
Talk of muscle cars and the desire to have the best.

    ooooooooooooh...

Would the number 421 possibly be involved in this "vision"?

Where do you have to go for this car that they have bicycles and sunshine outside reflecting on the car? Now I’m even more jealous.

  28. I don't know I would say that Pontiac was a dog it was on par with the he ultra slow 144 falcon... The 170 valiant wasn't exactly spry either.
As someone who has probably played around with every economy car from the early '60s I'm going to say I am a Rambler man when it comes to acceleration I don't know if it really is faster but it feels like it. That being said the Pontiac is probably the coolest looking car out of the group.

I dig the rear end / tail light treatment, the side spear and pitchforks. Forgive me for saying the steering wheel resembles a '57 Chevy unit!

  30. You didn't mention the fact that it had a flexible drive shaft or the transmission in the back of the car like a Corvette C5

This car is definitely from the Golden age of GM where they were innovative and different In each individual division.
