Life is moving in the right direction these days. Lots of time in the shop and I’m loving the outcome. Things are starting to really come together. It’s beginning to look like a car again. IMG_3528.jpeg IMG_3536.jpeg IMG_3540.jpeg IMG_3544.jpeg IMG_3546.jpeg IMG_3549.jpeg IMG_3554.jpeg IMG_3555.jpeg IMG_3557.jpeg IMG_3558.jpeg

Fantastic project, great work. A Lagacy rooftop, which will also be installed in my Model A.
Do you put a sealant under the rails?

I did not use sealant but I’m going to remove the rails and black them out. I don’t like the look of the raw aluminum. When I install them for good I’m going to seal them down.

Off to do the electrical system. I want things to work so I’ll leave the wiring to someone who knows what they’re doing.

Thanks for your answer, yes I also painted mine black, including the screw heads.
In daylight your car looks almost black, nice.

Those front turn signals are some aftermarket motorcycle signals. My friend found them and ordered them for me. Sorry I can’t tell you a brand or any details about where he got them.

We haven’t fired it up in the car yet. Our plan is to have it running this week. So far the Hemi only has dyno time on it.

Traction is definitely going to be hard to come by! It should be a lot of fun to drive.

That’s my snowmobile trailer. I ordered it with a few extra goodies so I could use it year round. It’s made by Trails West out of Preston Idaho. I added air conditioning, an awning, extra window, solar panel and fuel station. Those are in addition to all the regular things like heater and boot dryers. It’s just the right size for my hot rod.

First test drive revealed a couple of small adjustment issues. We have corrected those and it’s ready to go. IMG_3897.jpeg IMG_3899.jpeg IMG_3925.jpeg IMG_3928.jpeg IMG_3932.jpeg IMG_3935.jpeg IMG_3939.jpeg IMG_3940.jpeg

Thank you! It’s been a fun project and now the real fun begins! I get to drive it and race it at a bunch of vintage events.

It was definitely a learning experience! This car is so much fun to drive I can’t wait to get out on the highway with it.

It’s been on the road for a week and I’ve got about 250 miles on it already. The car is incredible to drive! The chassis tracks straight and is easy to drive. Sure it’s bumpy but it doesn’t try to change lanes when it bounces like it used to. The Hemi is performing great. There was a bit of a learning curve to get used to the clutch and power but after a day or so things were second nature. I’ve had it up to 90 on the freeway and other than the bias ply tires following the grooves (which isn’t bad) it drives straight and true. At 80 mph (Idaho’s speed limit) the tach is right on 2750 while in 5th gear. It’s set up right now with 4:11 in the quick change. I don’t think I need to flip it to 3:73. We’ve had to do a few little adjustments here and there but that’s to be expected. After 17 months of hard work I’m now to the fun part! Driving it. The interior still needs to be done but all my friends are saying that it will have to wait until this winter because I’ll be driving it so much.
