lots of changes ...not too much to take photos of. All mechanicals done,car is wired starts runs,brakes done and bled. doing lots of small stuff will try to foward any pics I have later
Mature (mature enough to know better!) gent 2 years ago had his nice, solid '33 Dodge coupe out to an outdoor show. He proudly displayed his black jewel, hood open. Yikes! an orange 350/350! Looked so 'queer' in there...had a 4 inch spacer from water pump pulley to large flex fan... Sheesh! A nice 318 or better yet, 340 would have done so much nicer...with 727 tranny...
Have had this 33/34 Dodge hood ornament for several years it was all busted up missing a couple pieces.Its been cold and got bored so I cobbled it back together and sprayed it. looks good for a display piece or worst case a beater. Not for my Plymouth so I haven't decided what to do with it. Too bad its not nice I saw a mint one for $2500.
that one for $2500 has been on ebay for almost a year now. I am lucky mine is good and in tact, I get super paranoid when someone gets around the front of my car or touches the ram.
Finally got around to finish grandsons pedal car/stroller. Put detachable handle on for stroller and take off handle and temporary floor and he can pedal around.
So I finally am getting my butt moving and completing this project. I started this as something to putz with on weekends slowly gathering parts as they became available and money was there. I had my 29 to drive and there was no rush. Then in 2020 (I can’t believe that’s almost 5 years already) I retired and was still just treating it as something to do. Then you look around and have some friends passing on and realize your no spring chicken yourself anymore . My 29 is starting to show its age ,paint failing,oil leaks,wiring starting to have issues so I better get this one done to drive so I can work on it. So I finished most of the mechanical stuff got the body work fairly decent and blew this thing apart to paint. Contacted Upholstry guy and get him started on various chunks of car. I decided to try the roll on Eastwood primer which worked great although it needed 2 coats and it blocked out very nicely. No mess from overspray and only used about 3/4 of a gallon for entire car. Then got some primer sealer which I got in black because car is going to be dark color and it shows up any bad spots that need attention. Here are a few pictures up to this point. I will post more as the shiny stuff goes on
well great job, does the primer and sealer take long to cure? what kind of roller did you use?? I like the idea of not spraying!!
The Eastwood primer is catalyzed so it’s dry to the touch in 25 to 40 minutes. I used their rollers which are a dense foam. The black primer sealer was sprayed and also catalyzed and dried in normal time 1/2 hr or so
Not sure how I’ve missed this thread but what neat car and a great color for it. Watching thread and excited to see progress.
