installed motor 283. had prev bought some center dump manifolds ram horns. hoping to fit better at steering box. 605 box. it’s right next to it. might even be touching. what fits better? does 500 box give more clearance? patriot headers? anybody installed a rack and pinion. need some ideas for the Hellair. can't really see the problem from that picture. Maybe the gasket surface could be machined to bring it closer to the engine? 55-56 exhaust manifolds dump out the front, so they would work. Rack and pinion steering is off topic here. this is a traditional hot rod forum that focuses on 1965 and older style builds 56man.jpg

sharp little motor. a pic on the driver's side showing the interference would help.

yup, those are 55-56 manifolds like I pictured above. would also allow you to put the generator or alternator on the drivers side where it belongs on a 57

@Huckster59 as you can see, even though it's outside HAMB style, the members are willing to help.
I'll mention this as a constructive suggestion, Please take it as such. The title "1957 Chevy" is going to get curious people opening this, but it's too generic. It isn't defining what you are talking about or asking.
Something like "1957 Chevy exhaust manifold interference" will get the right eyes and be able to be searched/found in the future.
