Early Aluminum Hemi heads - Desoto my guess because of the valve covers that fit them. They have no Manufacture info cast into them. Sharpie info says Mickey Thompson on them. Need help with a value so I can get them a new home.
@PhillipO The center to center of the head bolts on the Chrysler is 18 1/4”, DeSoto 17 3/8” and the Dodge 16 3/4. What do those heads measure? I got to thinking and the oil transfer hole in the heads looked to be on the wrong side for the Chrysler. I’ve only worked on a couple of 392’s but that oil p***age is on the other side of the pushrod holes compared to yours.
Ill measure that when I get back in front of them. Thanks for your reply. Here are two more pics I took of them.
Thanks @continentaljohn , but I wouldn’t say amazing, it’s just that I can recall where I read something and then I dig it up from my extensive magazine collection or maybe use the internet for help and photos. When I was on a race car crew we ran aluminum 426 blocks, never a 392, but I did some machine work on ‘92 heads for another racer. If those heads do prove to be for a DeSoto the big questions will be who had them cast and for what purpose? While I was typing this I thought of Adams & Enriquez who ran Jr. Fuel with what was referred to as a DeSoto and that would be very likely as the cl*** was 305 cu. in. and under. DeSoto had a 291 hemi, did Lean Gene have those heads cast for Jr. Fuel? @Marty Strode , do you still have contact with Gene Adams, or has he p***ed? How about his son?
