Here's a picture of my 48 Woodie. My dad had one when I was 14 (60 years ago) and always wanted one. He also had a 50 Ford Woodie and a 54 Country Squire. I bought it about 3 years ago. Age and health have forced me to put it up for sale if anyone wants a good one. MantuaJohn 100_7816.JPG 100_7814.JPG

INTERESTING PHOTO..attributed to Hastings Deering Service Ltd in 1947.. looks like it was in sydney australia.. other images show bus type vehicles being built. this one has an odd shape, but completely makes sense given that they would not have had the appropriate (stateside) inner fenders or rear floor..

maybe not as graceful as the standard version but cool for sure.. wish we knew more

A quick google lens search brings me back to an austrailian library website..

I first saw a pikky of this in a Peterson Publishing "booklet" in the 70s and thought it was way cool.

We did our first ever visit to the GNRS this year, and our group went to Huntington Beach for the do-nuts and cars (an early start after a 12 hour flight from New Zealand the day before) and there it was - a chance to see a car I have loved for 50 years.

Owner (Mike) was a real friendly dude, and seeing the car was one of the highlights of the trip.

I told my wife that I think I need to start a woodie project.
