be sure to clean all the oil passages and the rocker shafts. They store sludge.

I've been told they will work.. if you notch the frame rail a bit on the passenger side. I haven't done it myself. 2wd only I believe..

I need to go and pick up the 360 I scored. It's in Fort Worth and the weather has been crap.

How the passenger side points straight back would be my main concern with it pointing straight at the firewall, but if it's short enough might be able to connect the exhaust and bend it down toward the ground right away. Most the aftermarket headers for the 2wd '67-'79 fit and function great, been running the Hooker headers on my daily '74 for about 100k miles, and it gets driven from -20 to 100+ degrees year round. No leaks, no fuss.

Just bringing this up for my FE fix. No hot rod time for me.

I retired in May and still haven't driven the 3 hours to DFW to pick up the 360 block my buddy has. This house/shop build is consuming my every waking minute.

That's good that you are spending all the time on the buildings, it will pay off in the end.

Those 4 pistons don’t look like anything bad has happened to them.

Ha ha….no . I just retired from the FAA. That is one of our C90’s in the background. It’s going to scrap as we speak. The big storm in FTW caused the hangar door to fall on it. IMG_1863.jpeg IMG_1116.jpeg

That’s just Jet A fuel. They are defueling it, so they can scrap it.

A real shame, it looks like it could be fixed, but of course 'plane stuff is very strict.

They were reducing the fleet size anyway. They will part it out.

He has stated that he is going to build it as a 445 stroker motor, so that isn't a concern! See post #303

It doesn’t have a much of a ridge, if any, but I would guess it is somewhat egg shaped. I just need the block and a few odds and ends. I’ll buy the aftermarket aluminum heads and a stroker kit, so it should weigh in about the same as a sbc.

IMG_2010.jpeg IMG_2011.jpeg Root, I know you were checking on the Kugel shorties , real nice manifolds! I didn’t go all the way back on the posts , but I believe you are putting the 445 in a 56 Ford pick up? Those years seem to have the steering box right in the way of everything! We put a 312 in a 56 back in 65 and had to use a passenger side exhaust on the drivers side, kinda Frankestien rig , but that was all the was available to us at the time! Might want to check into a set of center dump FT exhaust, big and dump in the right spot, usually cheap when you find them! You have to weld up a port on each.
Just some more things to think about!
