Yes, "Fire Truck." It works, pumps water, runs with 360 c.u. straight 6... 620 series. Now, what to do with an operational antique Fire Truck? Retain the fire truck look, remove water tank, lower inside bed and, wait for it... "Car Hauler!" Oh, Christmas parades, car shows, anger the neighbors when I run the operational siren. Here in Arizona we honor the lost souls of the, "Granite Mountain Hotshots," tragedy. It will be a tribute vehicle. Thoughts? Information?
Honestly......I would try to reach out to the fire truck restoration crowd and flip it. It seems to be so complete and original that it would be a really good restoration candidate to a serious fire apparatus person. Your truck.....your choice
Good idea. I do want to play with it. Perhaps I can shelve the car hauler idea. So there is a "Fire Truck Restoration," crowd. Would like to know more about that.
It has great potential, for sure. The thought was thrown about to cut it... as in sharks teeth. Maybe. Perhaps, just leave it alone with it's current glory.
Have decided to move rear sides outward to give more room inside as a car-hauler. That dual rear axle takes up a lot of room. Wondering if I can remove the inside rear wheels and run on the outers? Then cut the inner wheel-wells for more room. It would be nice to upgrade wheels from split rims and use modern wheels and high load singles rubber.
Super Singles? Not heard of them, I'll check it out. Thanks. Now I wonder if I can get a solid wheel, (not split) to run them on that dually axle.
