I was out jumping through the junk yard the other day and spotted this. Looked way big compared to all the flatties I've seen. Anyone have any ideas?
Is it still going to be a machinable block? With the plugs being out for who knows how long and stuff? What kind of power could one make with starting with this base?
If it's been sitting outside open to the elements for years, I'd p*** on it unless it was free, or damned near free.
I would guess thats 900lbs of s**** at this point. Its all open, plug hole, waterpump hole, fuel pump hole. Grab the starter, the intake, the intake hold downs, and the side shift ******, the heads would look decent on a wall if you can get them off. Plus it looks like somebody rolled it down a hill. The dizzy is bent forward, the water return pipes are bent down, the exhaust is bent in, and the carb looks broken.
I'd count on having to do a few cylinder sleeves, if not all if it has been sitting out filling with water for a few decades.
Think I could use that ******? Benefits? Honestly If anyone wants this **** I'll be glad to get it for them. I havent used a flathead in anything and havent found anything even close to usable, so all my motors and ******s are a bit more modern, So its up for grabs. This isnt the only motor out there either. maybe I'll run shoot some more pictures today, see if anyone wants anything.
Is the ****** Auto or Manual? I dont see any indication in the pictures on way or the other. looks like auto but not sure.
Manual 3 speed, side shift ****** for the two pics you can see it in. If you are pulling stuff. I'll take that starter off that caddy flathead. I'll send you the dough to ship it as well as say enough to buy a 12 pack for your efforts.
Hell, if it's fee, take it. If nothing else, it's a conversation piece. Mount it on an engine stand and make up BS stories every time someone asks.
