HOW BOUT....... some good-old-fashion COBRA PORN ???

Here’s some shots of my FFR,
It’s the Swiss army knife of race cars. Drag strip, road course, Autocross, cruising, and it won a second place trophy at a show put on by the corvette club.

 

Definitely need narrow shoes,
I drive in converse allstars, I’ve driven in my sock feet but the heavy clutch and the heat from the headers migrating in to the foot box make it an even more uncomfortable experience.

 

How quick does it run?

8.05 @86.22 in the 1/8
12.75@103 in the 1/4

I was really hoping to get it in to the 7’s in the 8th mile this year but couldn’t quite get there’s
It’s a mostly stock 302 with a T5 and 3.55 gears.
I didn’t build it specifically as a drag car so it isn’t optimized for racing and I’m sure a better driver could get more out of it but it’s a blast to drive and I happy with it for what I’ve got in it.

Snakes, why did it have to be snakes?

 

While I like Mustangs and Cobras, I always thought the name "Mustang Cobra"was just wrong .........a horse and a snake just don't go together. Maybe "Mustang Quarter Horse" or "Mustang Stampede"

 

I’ve never thought of it that way, but I agree horses and snakes are not a pair.

The whole thing gets confusing. Some people say cobra when they mean a mustang, some call a Cobra a Shelby Cobra while others say AC Cobra, or even Ford Cobra.

I have a mustang and a cobra. I get asked if the mustang is a cobra mustang and I get asked if the cobra is a mustang cobra.

on-top of all that, 427 Cobra refers to the body style and chassis and not the engine

 

Never knew that !
Maybe just hearing the 427 part causes my brang to glaze over !

There was a dual Paxton cobra built too.cant seem to locate the mag it was in.
Might have been Cosbys

 

There were only 2 Super Snake Cobras built. And yes, one for Cosby the other for Carroll. These had dual Paxton super chargers on top of the 427 side oiler. Bill was so shaken he returned his to Shelby American, where it was purchased by a dealership in San Fran, and the next owner destroyed it by over driving a curve and over a cliff he went.
