I first met Mike in 2004 or 2005 (before I even joined the H.A.M.B.) ... but it wasn't until August of 2008 when @Jive-Bomber Jay Ward started the Will she make it to Bonneville?? thread that I realized Mike was also on the H.A.M.B. ... and that he was a good friend of Jay. Here's a couple pics of Jay & Mike during their journey to the salt ... and back home to the Bay Area: Mike lost his battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) ... My thoughts & prayers are with Mike's wife Monika and their two young daughters, Alexis & Charlotte ... Godspeed Mike

Lost my Dad to ALS. Prayers for family and friends of Mike and also for all others affected by this terrible disease.
Mike was about as good a guy as could be. My band played with Mike’s various musical endeavors many times over the last 30 odd years. I saw him for the final time last October at a gig we did in Oakland. He wasn’t well, but he not only managed to come out to see us and say hi, he was astonishingly upbeat. Upbeat I say! It was simply amazing. The fella faced his fate with great dignity and I hope we all are able to summon such courage when called upon. Godspeed friend!
