The Road through your Windshield...

Cruising through downtown Bay Shore in the Belair.

 

My chopped 56 F100 is one of my daily drivers. This was a few weeks ago on my way to Dave Marin (CruZin’ Magazine) memorial service and then to the Washington State Hot Rod Hall of Fame dinner.

 

Rock Island WA this afternoon, A cool but calm afternoon for what will probably be my last drive in the 39 convertible for this year.

Wow, Dave passed away!!

 

Unfortunately he had Lewy Body dementia and passed on May 12th.

 

Wow, sorry to hear that. Been awhile since I last talked with him.

 

Only a couple days left in the driving season, so I’m putting on as many miles as I can. Here is the road in to Starved Rock state park.

One day, I was in another coastal city looking for a supply store. I was in a slight hurry as I was supposed to pick up my wife from her location 8 miles away. But, as I approached the general area, up pops this sight in my windshield. A hot rod repair/build shop behind a tall gated fence. As I took a quick photo, I noticed several old cars getting ready for a build or two.

A 46 Ford Coupe, a Model A Roadster shell and an old truck, perhaps a 40 Ford Pickup. But, then, I had to continue on down the road to the supply store. On my return out of the industrial area, I saw the same shop and wondered if the projects will be worked on soon. It was a good thing my windshield was clean, so the details were pretty good for an old rusty set of cars.

Driving my normal speed, I made it to pick up my wife in record time and I had to wait about two minutes before she popped up in the parking area. Lucky me… I was not late… YRMV

@stubbsrodandcustom great shots. That first building looks like it could be a great man cave with parking and shop below, living quarters above. It's a shame that between disrepair and lack of local economy, places like this are not viable for most.

 

had to go for a drive today, it was convertible weather, and I didn't have anything that needed to get done.
