I have a Detroit 8v71 blower I want to convert to fit on a '79 Dodge 360. The blower needs to be rebuilt because it ended up outside for a couple year. I need to know where can I find a pulley conversion and intake manifold and Im not sure how to mount carbs on it. Any ideas/suggestion and a source for parts? Thanks

The 'V' series blowers have angle hold downs on each side (8 x vertical attaching bolts 871-vs- 6 x angled attaching bolts on the 8V71). I don't think there are any intakes or carb adapters made for them. You'd have to make it fit. End plates, drives, pulleys etc are readily available for conventional blower setups

There's a few adapter plates on fbay, bolts your 8v71 onto a 6-71 manifold.
Or you could make your own.

I don't know if they still do, but Dyers used to make 6V-71 intakes for popular V-8s. Probably worth an email if you are looking for a bolt-on solution.

  5. Anyone know where to find this base gasket? I am doing same conversion but need this base gasket between plate and blower. Thanks
