Hi Guys I haven`t been on the forum for a lot of years due to health problems with my wife Mavis & I , but im pleased to say we are both ok now . Mavis is back playing her belovered Golf. but unfortunetly at just turned 85 im not building any rods but they are still in my blood. My last build up was a 35 Ford pk up which I regretably sold 3yrs ago it is now in Germany near the Black Forest. This was my best rebuild. I hope "Mo to Much " got his 35 Ford pick up finished I would like to hear from him, I will still be on the H.A.M.B. site looking at all the build ups & dreaming about the past good days . Thanks America for giving us a great hobby. I got hooked in 1958 after reading Motor Trend due to been crazy about American Auto`s then in this magazine I saw an addvert for "Hot Rod " Magazine so order one ...wow that 1958 mag ate my brain & made me who I am today. All the best for this year......Brian
"Everything old, is new again" Welcome back to H.A.M.B. ! It's always a pleasure to see interesting contributions such as what you have posted here. It's encouraging to us younger geezer's, (me soon to be 72) to see and be informed of the fact, that the hot rod bug, still has the ability to bite our brains, and keep us interested in this hobby. Thanks from Dennis.
Hey Brian, good to hear you and your wife are doing well! I'm not sure if Bruce (mow to much) finished up his pickup or not but did just talk to him earlier this week. I haven't kept up with him very well in the last few years. Thanks for checking in. Jeff
Hi Brian, We've never "chatted" before, but I also am glad to hear that you & your wife are in good health! We share a few things in common...I recently bought a '36 Ford Pickup and am doing a little modifying to bring it up to good & safe running order..I'm also in my 80's, shared a few medical setbacks with my wife (though, we are, also, currently in decent health)..and have 'rodding in my blood , as well! Glad to hear you're back!!! Maybe, if you're feeling like it, we can share pictures & things we have done to our trucks. Tom
Thanks for your commets guys, hey Tom that would be great to share some pics, My first American Rod a 32 Ford 5 window coupe is in Costa Mesa owned by John "Chicago John" & I do believe he still owns it` & fitted a Arden Flathead conversion, Sold that one in 1972, Then Purchased a Volkswagen Kombi & chased the surf in the U.K. with my wife & 4 daughters , I had been spending to much time in the garage so thought it best to give my family more of my time till they got older, I road a 10ft Bilbo Surfboard,
Cheers, mate! Keep the fire going. How crazy is it to chase the surf in the UK? I know winter storms provide the best waves, but was spoiled by So Cal weather when playing in the waves.
Brian, without your health little else matters. As far as another hot rod goes, Never say Never! All the Best, Carp.
Hi Brian, I think we've conversed before on other sites (Mainly NSRA UK). I'm 76 and am building a 35 pickup just down the road from you in Boston. Been building it FOREVER, nearly done now. It'll never be as good as your one. I'm glad you and Mavis are feeling better. My Effort;
Hi I do remember bee n touch with you & its good to see you still are rebuilding your 35 pickup. its looking good. I think the 35 is the best pick up ol Henry made, I realy miss working on ol Fords I get a real buzz out of working on such old Fords. All im doing now is working on my HO American Railroad , I have all my favourate American Auto`s on there & a few Hot Rods, guess Ive never grown up. Hope you enjoy looking at my Railroad pics this hobby is keeping my mindset alive.....Cheers Bri

Hi Geezer, Love the railroad. When we were in touch before, We lived on the "Isle Of Skye", but, we moved here 6yrs. ago. Back in the land of the living, and, surrounded by lots of "Hotrodders" from my past. Lots of well known faces and cars that you might know (or know of). I think most of Kent and Essex have moved here. Good luck mate! I've noted your new E-Mail. Charlie.
Hi Charlie Glad to hear you are surrounded by lots of "Hotrodders" from your past, ive just started to go to my Rod mate Carl Powelles again.. he is building a 36 Vauxhall 4 door Sedan for a guy, Pinto motor & fully independant suspension kit on the front, its going to look & handle great . a true British Hot Rod . another mate Nemo is building a 57 Chevy Gull wing pick up........Pic of my First black pk up imported from Iowa with the help of U.K. Rodder Bernie Godosh & my last 35 truck From Concord California the guy I purchased it from helped me a lot with shipping parts etc. A guy on the H.A.M.B. who lived in Joshua Tree shipped me a 283 S,B.C. & other parts. They are a great bunch of helpful guys on this site.....I just love these 35`s Cheers Bri
