Well I've been a HAMB stalker for a long time. I've had the itch to build a car for awhile. Thing is I'm 65 so what better time than now! So, I found the car, along with a couple of great guys to help me. Found the car in May of 2024. A 1930 Ford Model A with the patina that I have been looking for. A little rough around the edges but, a solid car with most of the stock pieces still in place. I prefer the look of a traditional hot rod with as many vintage parts as possible using repop as sparingly as possible. I won't get into specific parts within the build just yet but just wanted to post some pictures of where the build stands from the beginning to now.
You gave her a haircut without bracing anything. Gutsy. Proper height though, I like a square back window like that. Groovy 35/36 dash. The Hamb needs are build threads and less HAMBook.
We did brace it. Just didn't post a picture of it. The dash was out when we chopped it. Chopped 4 inches.
Fantastic. I'm 56 and just starting my first hamb-worthy project. These cars might be the fountain of youth. Thanks for posting.
Update on the build. The frame was boxed, finished up and painted. Got the brakes plumbed along with the clutch/brake pedal linkage all back on and tied into the transmission. Motor is getting put together. Rear end is a 1939 banjo and got the tube shocks installed on the back. Front end is a 42 - 46 axle with reverse eye spring need to adjust the arms on the friction shocks I'm am using on the front. Body should be coming back on shortly. Going to run splash aprons on the car as well.
No, just gonna run the splash aprons. Thanks for all the kind words about the build. Will be adding a louvered hood top to it. Still got to get it wired up, finish up the brakes, seat upholstery (blanket) and the top (long grain original look). Hopefully, fire up the flat head soon!
Got the car lettered yesterday very excited about that. Hood top was louvered last week. Wanted to recognize Noblett Rod Shop because of the great help they have been on the car. Without them I wouldn't have been able to build the car! Thanks to Red's Pinstriping for the good work.
