I was there to share photos, progress on our projects, art, travels ect.. Then folks started losing it & arguing over covid, politics, religion & just about everything else I decided to cut it out.
    All good, Nothing dramatic.

Look forward to hopefully seeing you're 36 in person next year.

It’s been a bit, but I primered the 36. It came out ok, it’s not the best nor the worst. Getting ready for the HotRod Showdown on the Feb 22nd. Also added my side hood spears. Also going to lower the front a couple of inches hopefully this weekend.

Love this build and just saw you mentioned lowering the front a couple inches. That will look great! I want a tail dragger stance on my 40 Merc as well and just got a dropped axle to get the front down a couple inches as a start.

Well the weekend of The HotRod Showdown came and went, started the day leaving the house and it was 36 degrees outside. So a couple of buddies and I headed north to the Wimberly, TX. I was very surprised to have won The HotRod Garage Texas award, those guys build some amazing Hotrods and Customs, so it was an honor to be recognized by them.

Dropped axle is definitely on the list, but first gotta get the new flathead built.

  22. Nice work, great tribute. That is quite the execution. Do you have provisions for front turn signals?

So I hadn’t done anything else to the 36, but I felt like it was severely underpowered and the little 21 stud just was working too hard to push the 36 now that it is heavier (new sheetmetal) so I decided to swap flatheads from my 27 Roadster, the engine is 1946 Merc Block, it had been rebuilt at one time and ran great on my 27. So here go the pics of what I’ve been up to. Also I tell people in the North East they put their cars away for the winter, in Texas we put our cars away during the summer.

The 36 sits on a 39 Frame and had everything on it except for the engine, the old man had the little 21 stud on it. The engine has 24 stud Canadian heads on it. I did a lot of research and I really hope I’m right and I bought a Stromberg E-Fire for the flatty. Cleaned up some of the frame, cut out the exhaust and started to clean up the wiring.
    More progress…….

Next was deciding what intake to use.
    The Edelbrock Regular tall 2x2
Or the Edelbrock Sling Shot 2x2

If you follow my instagram you’ll know I went with the Tall Orginal Edelbrock Regular. I added the radiator, hoses, carbs everything you see here.
I ordered the e-fire spark plug wires from Summit, when I received the box it was obviously a return, parts were missing, man I was pissed. Anyways called them the next day and they expedited a new box of e-fire spark plug wires. They should be coming in today 7-15-2025, hopefully I will have this 36 back on the road this weekend.

While I was working this chick decided to wander into my garage, her tag didn’t have a home address, just the Vet she goes too (they were closed) found her owner after an hour. She’s home safe now.

Anyways that’s where I’m at. I will keep posting as I keep making improvements to my 36, this is a record for me to look back on as I continue building my 1936 Ford Custom
