Hey, heres some pics of my current project, this is my 60 unfairlane. 2 door 3 speed, and a real loud tri powered Y block.....the perfect combination to raise some hell........ The mill is all fresh, still havent fired it yet, almost done with it though. The only exhaust im gonna have on it is those cutouts right behind the front wheels, It started life as a straight six car and after ripping first gear out and spinning a rod bearing one thing led to another and this is what happened. So i parked the car in the corn crib and tore the motor out, (that beam above the car was makin some weird noises when i hooked the winch up to it and hoisted it out, hasnt fallen down yet so thats good...) I also just wrapped the steelies in some new firestone gum dipped goodness.....Anyway here it is, hope to have it done soon.

I wish I would have thought of that name, "the unfairlane" would be a great name for a racecar. I named mine the bondo bucket.

An old guy down the street from me had an original 57 fairlane with the original tri power Y-Block in it, not sure it was as much displacement but I rode in it once. It was not as quick as you might expect but very cool none the less. Looks like a great project. 1960-1963 cars are starting to be much more sought after now a days.

I'm curious who did your machine work. The shops around here generally haven't got much/ any experience with older stuff. Does the place you used do many? I know CASCO and Hill's Thunderbird are in Ohio, and I figured I'd try and find out who they use and drive mine down from MI when the time comes...

is the 1960 fairlane, a mini galaxie? (i know the differances for fairlane and galaxies, but its the year that throws me off). it looks like a smaller version of the 1960 galaxie, or is it the same size?

The Y block drags are usually Labor Day weekend, an all ford show, at National Trail Raceway, east of Columbus, near Hebron Ohio. Anyone with a hot Y block can get really great info about them by investing in "Y-Block Magazine".

Hey Eisenfaust, I get all my machine work done at Millet's garage in Piqua Ohio....hes been doin motors since he was15 and he's in his 60's now so he knows his stuff pretty good....He's got a pretty big shop, and there are motors EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!! old straight eights, y blocks, old pontiacs, olds rockets, caddy mills, a million 350's and just stuff I never even new existed, ( Ive seen some vintage speed parts in there too) but all of it belongs to people. Hes pretty good his number is 1-937-773-8909. Call him up he's a good guy.....and Omega asked when the small body fairlane started, it was 1962 when it went small, my 60 is fullsize onlything different is the roofline and trim. And someone asked for more pics so ill put 'em on here in a few days. Im definatly goin to powershift the hell out of that 3 on the tree at the Y block drags now, well i do that at every stop sign and traffic light anyway so that wont be a problem, And everyone else thanks for the comments!!!
