I stole @flamedabone technique for making home made sub rails. I studied his pictures carefully and came up with a plan to make it work on my chassis. Very little done and lots to do but I think Mr. Abones system is the way to go, thank you sir.

 

I agree, a 500 Cad motor is amazing 0-75 in a big car. In a light rod, it will be blistering.
I haven't messed with them, but have read that those super low rise (drop) intakes are a choke point. Swapping them out makes a big difference.

Adding more sub rails. Both sides done back to frame kick up. Measuring for original holes in the frame to hold everything together. Funny how ALL the holes were plugged and then the frame was boxed. I'm sure they had a plan in place. . . . Frank brought me the extra large specification sheet so I don't mess up. Thanks bud.

 

Fitting and mocking. Transmission linkage, brake master, cowl foot, floor support all must coexist.

Subrails made through 'b' post area. Now I'm ready to put body back on

@patsurf do you mean the transmission tunnel? It came with the car. I bent it, cut the support piece off of the end, and trimmed the flanges. So far I think I'll use it.

Are these 4 bars and bat wings installed correctly? Parallel to the ground but not to each other when you look down on them. Any insight would be appreciated

 

Just wondering are Bat Wings made Left and Right sided?

 

Handmade floor and sub rails took mucho hours and patience but I am happy with the results. If the body fits over it snugly then I'll be really happy with the results!

 

Currently, they are like the angled rear 4 bars. I'd see if swapping them as @The37Kid mentions gets them aligned.
As with many rods, the limited amount of travel hides flaws, but I'd try to get them in the same plane. That has got to be putting them into some side twist forces they aren't designed for. Rear bars are almost always in double shear.
Also, on the left side, I'd have the shackle bolts go front to back (like the right side) for servicing. They may need a bit of a trim to clear.

Thanks for the replies, all hardware was installed by previous owner (nylock nuts everywhere) and most just mocked up.
I'll try swapping sides and see if anything changes.

 

Mocked up the vega box etc. Everything seems to fit pretty well
