    Plowboy,

Click on my links below and you can check out my 38. I considered leaning the posts but, I'm putting the filler in the roof because it was going to be a chore to lay the posts back with a 5" chop. The problem lies with leaning the bottom sealing edge of the windshield with the posts. To do it right, more than the posts have to tilt. The windsheld seal across the cowl needs to be realigned and the top edge across the brow needs to kick forward so that the windshield doesnt get a slight Z in it that would make gl*** work tough. I narrowed my cab 4" also, so I've already welded across the roof once. I'll gladly do that again for the filler instead of all the alignment issues I saw when I was mocking it up.

Here's some pics of my '37 project. I did not want to cut the roof, but as scotty described the windshield fitment would have been a big problem if the posts were laid back that far. I took 4 1/2" out in the front and 5 1/2" out in the rear, because I did not like the way the window openings were slanted with an even chop.

Swede, actually I have about 6 inches or so over my head in this. I was thinking 3 inches out of the top and I still have 3 inches of head room then.

Perhaps I need a video of myself dancing in pretty pink *******. Would that be gay?

Wow I am just as undecided now as when I started this post. I guess I'll just have to finish up the bed, roll it outside and take a gander at it.

I know I don't like the severe chop with the windshield layed back, but the mild chop with the A pillars leaned doesn't look too bad.

And for the record Swede, this truck is stupid low. Ha Ha Ha

That doesn't mean much coming from someone with a stock bodied 36. Why don't you chop yours? Ha Ha Ha

  18. Tehehehehehe:D .....He is leanin that way, boys!
    reachin' for his saw......

  19. Plowboy, glad you started this thread, having just such a basket case, I've been searching for the same images.

You really nailed the stance, and although those late '36 "low cab"s look great w/fenders, I think a bit of a chop would be the crowning touch, even more than 2" maybe. Hell, the early lakes racers leaned the windscreen way back(Pierson bro's),,,,,,,,,,,,,,

anyway, do what you like, we know it'll be awesome!..........LEE
