He told me the last time I stopped by. Is he really retiring?

Yep, I have watched all the videos now. There are a couple details I will likely do different, but sure appreciate Matt documenting everything as well as he did. The overall look also turned out great (at least where he is at so far).

He is trying. He is starting to try his hand at teaching some classes on how to do it as well. I know he has done one and think there may be another coming up. Anyway, I have to go see him this weekend to pick up a 59 Chevy pickup axle for a guy at work, so will see how the classes are going.

Well, my axle is dropped, but still needs some finish work before I get it. I saw it tonight when I had to borrow some number stamps to mark the rods in the 312 I am rebuilding for my 56. :D I also need to design some mounts to move the rear parallel leaves inside the frame instead of under it. I’ll never get it low enough with the CE kit (I think) that is on it. I at minimum need to get the stance better before I start chopping.

If it’s dropped low, it will be easier to hammer and dolly the top when chopping.

Just tripped across this pic I saved back in 2020. Seems my tastes haven’t changed much from even before I had the car. I like most everything about the way this car is built and suspect I saved it from here.

It would a lot of work but I guess it’s doable. Cut off the top , add eye glass looking windshield, build loop roll cages behind the seats . Open up the rear fender openings and mount up some wire wheels. It’s your car do what trips your trigger .

Nice Merc for sure, the owner is from Australia & on here can't think of his Handle. Might even have a thread about the car...

    Thanks Anthony!

And, I have decided on the style skirt I want and Sid Drapal assures me he should have some. :) I was talking to him about them last night. We were just at the shop and the skirts are supposed to be at his house.

Also, if I would have been thinking, I would have taken my spindles to him so he can bend the steering arms. But, I didn’t think of that until after I saw my axle on the floor.
