After looking at pictures of the 39 Ford clutch pedal assembly, isn't it set up to push the stock clutch fork? When using a SBC clutch fork set up that has to be pulled so I'm guessing the 39 Ford pedal assembly has to be dissembled and flipped. Am I correct? Thanks

Yes I did it on my 39 when I put a olds in it. Worked that way for years.

    I’ve flipped several of them
If you use a nova bell housing it’s nearly a straight pull and the brake pedal won’t hit the fork

You can also use an early ford style adaptor and save yourself a lot of head ache.

for example, let’s say you’ve got a sbc and a t-5 going in your 39

use a sbc to early ford adaptor mated to an early ford to t-5 adaptor.

then you can use the stock clutch linkage and everything works harmoniously :)

  7. You remove the pin from the clutch pedal; rotate the actuating arm 180 degrees so it faces down, align the clutch pedal, drill a new hole, and pin the clutch pedal.

With the Nova bell housing, will the clutch arm clear the stock wish bone on a 40 Ford? Thanks

    That I can’t say
I’m building 36 with a nova bell housing and a 39 pedal assembly.
But won’t be there for a year or so
    Sorry

Thanks. good luck with the 36. So, you have no clearance issues with your clutch arm?

    Like I said I don’t know yet
The other cars I built with a nova bell housing had split wishbones
