Been trying to finish out the steering wheel. I took inspiration from what I did with the grill emblem. I may have rushed the paint on the center. I used fine-line tape but it shrunk away from it. The chrome is in poor shape so. Time to touch up the edge a tiny bit and pour some resin.

But Wyatt , Holman Moody switch panels were fives holes. You must not be able to count because your’s has six ?
Well, they didn’t have nitrous, or weren’t saying.
Made this little gem today and it’s extra reinforcement plate. I don’t have the transfers yet and can’t decide whether to anodize it or just paint. The small holes are not just for the switch covers but also for the proper switches I will use.

All the “race” additions will be in the header. The dash will be left alone other than SW 2 5/8 oil & water temp in oval insert. I got a SW Harley Police Special speedo. It is 4” diameter. So not as large as the lusted over auto one’s. Still nice and proportionate to the temp gauge increases. I am most likely covering the Script. I have it apart from repainting the needle. All gauges are vintage. If the average person will step to a door and peer through a window. They might only spy a stockish interior with a steering wheel, Hurst shifter, and chrome floor pedals being flashy.
Finally I’ve studied up quite a bit on hand woodgraining. I plan to do it very dark close to the body color. That will flow nice to the exterior paint on the door inside. I’m not using my dash tunnel but have a cut one for the gauge mounting surface. I’ll support the dash panel with some sort of struts. I have an engine turned replacement face but it’s poor condition so I’ll probably make my own. I know these are not commercial additions but they’re just things I really like in a 32. Since my Tudor dash is crazy I can have these details in the pickup.

This is from a Panhead. I have to cut a new glass due to bad scratches. There is some cool options to choose from through the HD years. I bought an aftermarket one so I could change the face to the light gold Knuckl era. Saving it in hopes of a 33-34 3w build for my daughter.

still some tiny bubbles here and there. I’m a rookie to this stuff so… I intended to turn it in the lathe down to just the red. Having it domed enough to get over the bird wing tips. Leaving no resin on the chrome portion. Not that I know how to not hurt the fragile finish. The chrome has a lot of its copper undercoat showing from surface rust and scratches.

I like the police special script on the speedo. I like the flavor of this project! Traditional but not afraid to colour outside the lines.

Oh I color out the lines all right Matt. Did a very poor job of adding to the tach’s tail to have it more match the SW gauges. I may have to reapply myself. It’s just so delicate I am afraid to hurt it or the calibration.

Some times you mess up trying I may learn one day.
The flavor of the build is fairly cliché. Moonshine Runner built in the 50s(traditional hot rod hauler)style. Dark subdued exterior. Mid 60s truck owner(maybe part time runner) works at “RoundyRound” shop. Speed parts start trickling out back door onto truck to make it go faster, bye,bye flatty & 3spd. Maybe its fenders fell off on some mountain dirt road? The blurry out of lines has to be the little bits of flash in the interior and rear suspension tricks all from Drag Racing influence.
