Yep,.. I HAD (emphasize HAD) that problem a while back...
Live out in the country, and had folks drive down the road and do the old baseball bat deal.
I had a guy bend me some metal (about 1/8 inch thick? -- 7 gauge) into a mail box shape. Welded me a floor to it, made me a door for it, and a flag... then painted it with flames, my favorite Nascar drivers number, and a "Nascar" sticker.
They may hit it, but so far not even a dent.... could of cause a few broken arms though... good enough for them.

:D YOU, drawing a blank on what to say???:D Thanks for the laugh this morning!:D (missed you at the PileUp BTW)

Here's my "mailbox" that Brickster made for me. It was too nice to put outside so I started using in my hot rod kitchen as the breadbox. TONS of compliments on it whenever anyone new walks into my kitchen.

8. Here is mine in process. It is copied from a rural box, very large. I made it out of stainless steel. In the rust belt that is a consideration. I think it is thick enough to handle a Louisville slugger also. I mount it on a 1936 Lincoln Zephyer torque tube. Just waiting for a buddy of mine to lazer cut a roadster for the flag! Check out the old school letters on the top. I used some of the letters from the previous home owner, then I made the letters I needed. Now you will know how to find me....

Wow... and a sneak peek at the new hot rod kitchen. Love the 'pervert' license plate. Nice Holley tin sign. :)

That's some cool lookin' craftsmanship goin' on there. I like.

11. Here on the Gulf Coast in Texas we don't have either problem, snowplows, or the bill. An aquaintance was sick of his rural mailbox being run over, so he sunk 6" pipe 6' into concrete for a mailbox pole. Somebody hit it, it flipped his car over and killed him. He didn't have to pay for shit.

Wifey had me take this off the post after about 15 years. Replaced it with one of those new plastic pieces of crap that look like brick. I just don't have the heart to throw this one away yet. Stu[IMG][/IMG]

I was thinking of building one shaped like a baseball, since the local assholes will probably take a bat to it.

Currently I'm not even old enough to own a house. But i did paint one( a mailbox). it had a black widow on it and spider webs everywhere. It was for the pinstripers charity auction at the Grand Rapids, MI Autorama. Some lucky dude ended up paying a wopping $15. Yeah all that work and it only brought $15. sorry no pics
