I came up with a solid plan, I was going to repair the quarter, blend into the back door and up the rear pillar. I have a different rear view mirror I’d like to use so I thought it was a good time to weld the old holes up. I’ve never been happy with the door gap between the doors, so now I thought is a pretty good time to address that, there are chips I should probably…..

Washed it with soap and water (a rarity) during a light rain. The last drive of the year was pretty wet and it got real dirty. All clean, dry and under cover for the winter now….until April. Drove it just over 4,000 miles this year. Giddyup.

Assembling some freshly painted parts..... hopefully on the road this spring. KIMG1332.JPG

  5. Made some mounting plates to attach the wood base to the seat frame. 1/4" kinda overkill; but I wanted to tap them for studs to make it easier to drop in place.

  11. Covered the seat back springs for our '47, hooked the to the back frames, and tried them out on the base to be sure they cleared the wood I added.

Bought new brake drums, pads, and hardware. Then looked out the window at it because they are calling for 45 more hours of snow.

With temperatures suddenly over 60°f, today was the first time it was possible to work on the car where it is so I picked off where I left last year, namely trying to find why the car runs rich. Well, it's not a too high fuel pressure (the bane of many mechanical pumps these days). So next I'll take the carb off the car, fit a brass float (currently I have the old plastic one which allegedly becomes impregnated with fuel as time goes by, which messes up its... floating so you cannot properly adjust fuel level) and recheck the power valve gasket for leaks. And if all that does not work, I'm not too proud - I have a Ford 2100 replica made in a certain country, and those according to the internet DO work.

A few friends with old coupes went to the hot rod picnic today. Our club had a record 37 cars attend , we have got the rat fink award for best attending club 18 years straight. Always a chilled out relaxing day we look forward to , no real trophies just chilling out. . Plus raising $6500 for the rescue helicopter as a bonus.

About a month ago I started to organize things, as I found them I'd put related tools and small projects together. No real plan, there was a 1915 T windshield I got a smoking deal on at Hershey since the lower glass was broken. Found some top rests for the Roadster with one screw ceased on the aluminum stand, and other little things. Bit by bit maybe a half hour at a time I'd fool with the stuff. Now I have safe stuff to hang on the wall, and less clutter
