  2. The shorty hearse is an ambulance, not a hearse--haven't seen one on a Cadillac chassis but saw a '54 Packard "shorty" ambulance a few years ago. It had a single bucket seat for the driver, and the gurney had to roll all the way up to the dash, so the patient and ambulance driver could talk to each other! The Packard shorty ambulance I saw had been a military vehicle originally. Body by Henney.

Now here is a rare one. This is a 1964 Pontiac Catalina 2+2 convertible. Originally, these had bucket seats, console, the Pontiac 8 lug rallye wheels, stiffer suspension and a 421 V8, which had a 4 barrel carb, but could be ordered with tri power! Less than 8,000 2+2's were produced in 1964, and that includes the 2 door hardtop models. upload_2025-2-25_11-57-4.jpeg

That it's a US production, because he posted a lot of French cars without knowing.

  15. Those old Hearses are worth some good money these days. I use to wholesale cars at auction, one day I sold all my cars and needed a ride home. Just happened to be a Hearse crossing the block at the end of the day, so what doI do? I raise my hand. Since no one else would bid on it, I bought it. It was cheap, less than a grand. Way to new for the Hamb though. The wife wasn't happy. I drove that Hearse for a few months until it got hot out. The Caddy Hearse had AC delete, radio delete, and it was triple black. Because it was built on a 4 door chassis, the door windows were small, and the only windows that would roll down. It got really hot inside. I had a lot of fun with that Hearse. I took it back to the auction and sold it for a profit.

  17. Why would a hearse have AC delete? Kind of goes against its cargo manifest....

  21. I agree. I wouldn't want the cargo getting hot.

Owner told me it's a 1938 Buick; probably more sitting than rotting. 001.JPG
