I'm leaning toward "Snow Blind" Still needs to be cut,wet sanded, more clear, and buffed but it'll be ready for the 11th. Who's stripin' at PnP?
Congrats on the car, Kevin. I, for one, was a doubter that this car could really be considered cool. You and Lux have proven me wrong. It's still not totally my style, but it is a cool car. Can't wait to see it in the light. And to cruise up to Denton in a couple of weeks. Don't know about "snow blind". I like "the Creeper". Either way, don't force a name. Give it some time and it may come to you. Some cars seem to want names and others don't.
daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam haha kick *** man, that cars come a LONG way very nice
Much better than when you first rolled up with the home done scallops....Hey Lux, REMEMBER THOSE DAYS? Looks good man. speedy
I'm with Buzz, you got a friggin' smoove thing going there, let the name come to the car, really nice.......oooh, fine!
Man, that's not my style at all--but I'd drive the hell out of that! Great lookin' ride. You should be (rightfully) proud. Brad
Dayum! Now that is a sweet paint job...really dig the white and the panels...looks good man, can't wait to see it in person. Now you really got me thinking about paint on my caddy...
Yep- there is some bubbling in the roof. fortunately, the purple is extremely forgiving. Lesson learned-Polyester Lace ****s,period. that said, The green that was under it did the same ****, and it rubbed out beautiful. This has been quite a journey with 'ol Kevin. I got to make a good friend while working on this car. And love it or hate it, he has stayed 100% commited. here's something y'all don't know-this car is his daily. he drives it EVERYWHERE, and Kevin is a teacher.- he doesn't have the highest salary, but he still managed to s****e it all together in the long run. He has been on the "shame train" for more than a couple of days while we completed major work. point being-congrats,Kevin. it payed off!
after a little more thought on this, I wanted to add a few things....there's really something to be said for the new life Kevin has breathed into the ol JC Chevy.....let's face it, 4 doors aren't too loved round these parts, 'specially when they got the homemade scallops and such. (Good one Speed A! I can giggle, cuz I did that too.) But when everyone's saying 4 doors are good for parts (heck, I had a close buddy recommend that I sell my heap!), you gotta give props to the guy who hangs on to it, and stays the course. Now Kev has a rightous ride, that he and the Lux should be proud of. It's really one of those times when the thought "do what YOU want" comes across loud and clear...even now as I gaze on these pics, I'm glad I've stayed the course too and giddy at the prospect of achieving something along the lines of this super bad machine....rock on Kevin and all the more-door owners out there! Hami
Thanks guys. The JC has come along way from the rattlecan GM vette teal scallops and baby moons; through the bondo "shave", skirts, rattlecan white primer; to the grayeen Incredible Hulk stage, which for the life of me, I can't figure out why I didn't see until LUX pointed it out What you see here is evolution - from knuckle draggin' wannabe ratrodder to knuckle draggin' fullblown Bellflower 60's cruiser. I can only hope that other's follow the lead and embrace the SHINE-it can be kool, too! Thanks, Crushproof! ps-It's a '63 Mercury Meteor grille-good eye!
