Anyway I was all ready to post my great intro and the forum timed out or something. Anyway since the system obviously did not save what I wrote I will try to be brief.

I am a 31 year old engineer originally form Iowa and up until recently I focused on cars from the Muscle years. I am now linked to a 1954 Plymouth and appreciated the tips people gave me. I am interested in getting into a car from the era everyone here seems to have.

My 1968 Camaro is probably too new and you'll have to tell me when I am getting to new for everyone. Anyway I hate cars that are not driven, but I do see the benefit of upgrading when the time is right. The 68 has the original drum brakes because they seem to work for my needs, the engine is a 30 over 454 now, from a 1976 truck I wrecked. I bought a bunch of aluminum parts for the engine to get the weight down to the original all Iron 327 that was in it. It has no power steering, no power brake and no AC. It was bought as a driveline car and will stay that way. I consider this hot rodding but understand people who don't agree with me considering the cars age.

Anyway I will post some pics of potential cars I am interested in for an old car project.

One car I like but again might be too new is the 1965 Riviera

Another car that I would liek to own is a mid fifties Buick Olds or Poncho. some examples in my range.

Basically I'd like to see what other say about the old cars. I pretty much stop at the 1930 and older cars, but I could be swayed I guess.

I think the rope drive Tempests are cool

I am between NKC and Gladstone, just off Vivion.

Independance is a treasure trove of old parts for decent prices. SR Transmissions sold me a rebuilt TH350 for $350 a couple years ago, and offers a 700R4 for $550. Effing great deal considering the shift kit and torque converter that went with the ******.

I also know of a guy named Harry who used to own Eastside Auto Parts (Now Carquest), I have his number from a friend. apparently he has a huge amount of fifties NOS. I am hoping he can hook me up with lights and Gennie 6V Battery cables for the Plymouth.

What does everyone think of a 1956 Caddillac? The correct air cleaner is with it, which is a cool item for old hotrods as well as the 3?? OHV V8. It is missing some trim but a cool car. very menacing from the front. It has the AC in the trunk, which seemed weird. They want 2500 for her, and I think she even runs. but she is pretty rough

Just as soon as I wipe all the slobbers off of my chin and shirt I'll let you know what I think......First off my folks owned a 56 Olds just like that one, Have wanted one ever since. Second I did own a 55 Pontiac 2dr when I was a kid, Of course I couldn't keep clutches or trans. in it.(lead foot) And I worked for GM building B.O.P.s Love the 56 Buick 2dr. We built the Buick Calif. Hyway Patrol cars. They were the Special model with the Century engine, Stick. Lunch time drag races..Thanks for the Pictures, Love them. Oh by the way, I'm from KC Kan.orig.
