    Like Gl*** Head lights ? 2 & 4 lights.
    If so Holley makes Replacements
    Acrylic /plastic
    Look Oem But $$$

  3. Should,nt 1960s headlight lenses have all those little lines in the gl*** for deflection etc, etc. Those look like drivinglight/spotlight lenses. I just googled MGA headlight lens for the hell of it. Guess you know the diameter you need, i don,t.

you can find them for about 50 bucks each
look for Lucas SLR 576 foglights clear. you can find the bulbs also, the repops are just as good.
find some british swaps and get them cheap.
I think new the repop bulbs were near 60-75 each.

I run 4 on my 57 with a H4 attached to the rear.

The dont blind people if you have them aimed correctly.

New H4 have clear lensed on new cars with no defusing lines, so who's to say. Just dont drive at night so much.

    @34 GAZ apparently we're outlaws in CA, o well:eek:

I have looked the cheapest seems to be about $60 US so that's $85 a piece Cdn plus $90 US shipping which is $130 for me plus brokerage and taxes so it will be more than $500 by the time I got them from the US. Its cheaper for me to buy them and ship them from England than the US.

I have researched the cost and know what they are going to cost me. I am wanting to confirm this is the lens style that was used so I don't make a $500 mistake because there will be no returning them.

are you looking to do 7" or 5.75" bulbs basically singles or duals? The 7" are a different# SLR700
Yes this so happens to be a item that is cheaper to get from UK shipped.
Like I said if you hold out, check at British swaps you can get the whole fog light ***emble for like 50 each and sell the ***emblies. Or just do 2 at a time if you are doing quads.

yup, Lucas SLR 576 just like you posted in the first post are exactly what was used on customs in the 60's. some were used in british cars as driving lights and some as reverse lights. My 56 chev has the same set that it had in the 60's (pair of clear and pair of fluted) . they made em both clear and fluted but the custom guys used clear mostly 56ccr.jpg 56drivein.jpg

5.75" doing a '63 Riviera. British car swaps are few and far between up here. My dad was a British car guy. It would probably take me years to find 4 used ones.

Thanks all for your input. Confirmed what I though but wanted to make sure.

The trouble with used ones when you find them is that the silvering on the reflectors is almost always flaking off and discolored

That and I can guarantee they will not be $50 up here.

Thanks Mark. Those are the 7" one and I am looking for the 5.75" ones although they all seem to be about the same price. I couldn't find the smaller size on CW Moss' site when I was doing my research on trying to find them.

So far I have found the distributor in England that I posted and one guy in the US Jolly Rogers Motors (whose website looks almost identical to the British one so they may be related companies) that seem to carry the 5.75" ones. Our dollar is stronger against the pound, the lights are cheaper and shipping is about $50 less to order from England so that seems to be the smart play.

Well just to wrap this up. The Complete Automobilist kicks ***! I order the lights from England on Monday and received them here in Western Canada today without paying any sort of expediated shipping. As mentioned shipping cost me $50 less to ship than regular mail was going to be from the US. I would highly recommend them.

    Thanks again for everyone's input.

maybe continue the post if you use H4s in the end, I literally used some wire to hold mine in, and want to make a 3D lock and holder, project for another day.

If you use the actual Lucas bulb and bulb holder you are good to go,, I just happen to use my car at night and wanted the extra brightness.

Yeah won't be doing a lot of night driving mostly because we have really long days during our driving season. I will probably still grab an H4 and see what I can figure out.

In the shop I was working before, we were throwing those and the tri-bars away all the time because we were restoring mostly Jags. I don't think I ever saw any fluted ones.
I know I still have 4 buckets for the 5-3/4", I don't recall if I have the lens or if they're good, I'll check. If I do and you like them you can have them for the cost of shipping from France.

I have nothing to compare them to but they look good to me. And as mentioned they were super quick to get here.

Dude! did they come with the bulb, bulb holder and piglet for that price? or did you just ***emble them, that crazy good, just mount, wire and go!!!
Please post them mounted when done!!! super!!

BTW all repops come from the same place- you know where( but the quality is OK) , I actually found the source Company years ago but they only wanted to sell like 1000 pcs at a time? I was like can I have a sample pleaseo_O

main thing is to make sure not to get moisture in them because the silvering in the lenses can tarnish really badly.

here is a fluted one for people who dont know.

So this is the lights installed. Still need to wire them. I ***ume with only the two wires one just avoids sending anything to the high beam prong in the factory plug? 20250715_162014.jpg
