I don't generally need help in the shop. When friends show up it turns into a BS session and we are dang good at that. :D

Rear ends are getting heavier. I'm getting weaker. But I enjoy my friends.

  4. I was lucky to have friends with more skills than me when we were younger. Normal was 10 hr. days at real job followed by 3-4 hours shop time with buddies. Never could have done half the stuff without great friends. Tried to pay them back and hope that I did. Really miss the too many that have passed on.

Back in my prime, my work week was between 55 and 60 hours a week. Then it was car time.
I helped a bunch of guys with their projects, and it was fun. There were even a few that would show up once in a while to help me with my project. That too was fun.

Wasn't long before the time came that when I was helping them, it turned into a job, me working, them watching. If they came by to help me, it was mostly BS time and they were offended if I really needed help. That was not good when I only had limited time to work on my stuff.

Wasn't long after that, when ever "help" arrived, I didn't get much done on my stuff. I got more accomplished by myself. When my son got old enough to actually be helpful and started to understand things, it became fun again. We worked on a lot of projects together. Things were happening again and his buddies started coming over to help, that was fun too. That lasted a few years until the entire process started the down hill slide.

I still help my son some times, but these days I'm more of a tool go-fer, light holder, suggestion maker, and over all supervisor. Me actually performing much work has been reduced a lot, these years are catching up with me. I believe we both enjoy those times, and now his 11 year old son is becoming interested.

Not many guys my age around here doing much with cars these days.

First wrench turned on my heap since November? Big Andy decided to spend his week of vacation with me... I love free labor! But we've had a helluva week. He's helped out so much, I can't thank him enough, it's awesome having a buddy around the shop. I'll be taking applications in the event that anybody else decides they wanna come hang out with the big daddy :D we changed the rear end in my car. Hoping that by the end of the day tmrw evening, I'll be able to drive this bitch out of the shop. We'll see....

I'll have it at Bowling Green, but i also registered in the street gasser class for this event. There's over 40 cars registered now, with 4 months still to go! It's gonna be a good time if any of you are able to make it. Screenshot_20250312_232637_TikTok.jpg

Big Andy helped me so much this week, it was cool having him in the shop with me. On a side note, I want an air cleaner just like this one, does anybody know who makes it or where i can order one? 20241102_151534.jpg
