Thanks everyone, but gotta fix some issues before venturing beyond the 'hood:

- Check the drag link/pitman arm geometry; the car turns farther right than left.
- Fine tune the adjustable brake proportioning valve.
- Either narrow both brake & gas pedals, or move the brake pedal pad away from the gas pedal. My right foot accidentally stomped on both... twice.
- Lower the seat more for better visibility.
- Tighten the brake light actuator lever.

 

....Not completely sure which pedal pads you are using without looking back in your posts, but someone makes rectangular ones and someone also makes ones (round) with the mounting stud off-set. These can free up some room and avoid the scary hitting both pedals at once scenario.

Watch that throttle cable sawing through that aluminum ferrel, might need to extend that upper gas pedal arm so it centers the cable out the hole more.

 

Fantastic, must be a great feeling, even if there are some teething problems, what an achievement

 

I took a break from driving to install the windshield & back glass.

Templates are 1/4" pegboard & plywood scraps.


My local "Auto Glass Express" cut the clear laminated glass....


.... then glued their windshield into my powdercoated frame.

I inadvertently cut the 1-piece side & bottom gasket into 3 pieces when beveling it's corners.


They're glued in place with 3M black super weatherstrip adhesive and binder clips.


I attached the frame to the header with the top gasket in place, but that caused the bottom of the frame to rub the cowl paint, so I removed the gasket and everything fits nicely.


We'll see how watertight it is.

Thanks for the kudos, fellas.
I fixed those first-drive issues:

1) Removed the pitman arm and centered the tires, steering box & steering wheel. Then reinstalled the pitman arm so it's perpendicular to the drag link (measured with a large metal framing square).


After that, I rechecked 1/8" toe-in and reassembled everything with new cotter pins.


Now the steering wheel and tires all turn the same amount in both directions.

2) Narrowed the gas pedal and moved the brake pedal to the left 1/4"- so they're no longer accidently pressed simultaneously.


3) Fine-tuned the brake proportioning valve at 0700 Saturday morning on a nearby empty street.

Now there's max braking pressure with no rear lockup.


4) Cut, lowered & rewelded the seat bases a bit more. Same steps as back in July '24.

Oh yeah- I also added turn signal and high-beam indicator lights.
They're inconspicuous but visible to the driver.
