A future project is to get these all sorted by size and what brands they fit before I bring more home.

Makes me feel better about my stash. :D I built a rack to store some of mine up on the wall of the shop recently and was surprised how quick I filled it up. Might have needed more than one rack...

You need to invest in a 120v welder and find some used pipe, build a few racks!!

How many projects are your realistically going to build? I guess I an at the age were most of those would be just hoarding.. Hope you use them all.

Glad I am not the only one using litter pails as shop storage containers!

Well, I probably have more wheels than that….maybe! lol :)But I store mine outside some still on the cars. I mainly collect FoMoCo wheels, but a few GM have snuck in ! Plus I have tons of tractor and truck wheels.
But I feel better looking at your pictures! lol, I just picked up three Ford 5 on 5 and one half this week…..that I didn’t need! lol

Last year we had to clean up the place. Sorted out every wheel that showed rust to the extent that I wouldn't run it myself. Still have around 300 of them, & another 100 with tires to sort.

I'll be on the lookout for a t-shirt with that on it.

  11. I just went through my stash looking for a spare for one of my cars - of course out of about 30 , I didn't have one that would fit.
I did manage to clean up a little bit by removing all the tyres, so now I have more room for more rims!

  12. My stash of wheels has dwindled down over the years. Still have a small stack of 5 on 5 Buick Rallye wheels, including one hard to come by 15 x 7.

I was going to say that I didn't have a stash but do have a batch of 35 wires I was going to use on my Model A project that I sold the body and frame from and I have a set of 32 Chevy wires that I have collected for my boat tail speedster project. Plus a set of 15 inch Ford pickup wheels that may or may not get used. then I have a few sets or pairs of rollers with different bolt patterns. My roller collection has been getting down sized since I gave a set of wheels and tires to my firewood guy when he was saying he had had a couple of flats that day and another set to a friend who needed a set of rollers for a project he was buying.

At least youre cleaning them up and selling them on,

Its the guys that just buy everything up ' just to have it' that get my back up.

If it aint on a car its just a lump of metal, that's the way I see it. ;)

My point was, there are guys out there who hoard up stuff for 'future projects' and it never to see the light of day, then when they pass on, it all ends up in scrap anyways as their family doesn't want to deal with it.

You may not have been close to a hoarder(s) but they view what they have collected as, well, their collection. No different than people who have an area in their home dedicated to art.
I’m not speaking of the things like seen on the reality shows, but talking about folks with cars, tractors, equipment and parts for all that would never be used in their lifetime.
But I’ll stop derailing the thread further.
Most wheels I’ve ever had at one time was maybe 20-30. Some I was able to sell, some went the way to the scrap yard.
But I’m pretty sure the OP will be id’ing them and selling them off.

I exaggerated after thinking hard about it I bought only 9 wheels 1 50 merc wheel 4 steel 15 ford truck wheels that take a 40 style cap at the KYANA swap meet. I was looking at American racing TTO 5 spokes .I noticed a lot of 15s were out of stock & thought you never know when they could be bought out bankrupt or discontinued. they are not an expensive wheel & speedway had a pair the size I wanted in the garage sale & got 2 from Summit. 20250318_082307[1].jpg
