    Hello,

a long time ago, we did a search on some facts remembering the sectioned Ford Falcon in those early LeMans style car races. It was all we could do to read and watch back then. Then the wonders of the internet search did much better.

The sectioning took the nice stock design and moved it into another category. Inside of those small cars was “small enough” let alone less room for teenagers or anyone for that matter. So, the lightweight cars had modifications for class competition at the drags and they had all sorts of build types. But, racing money and altering the rules to fit race cars, goes to one step more for a competitive edge.

The "big boys" had the designers and the money to create whatever. All in the name of competition, then advertisements with it being out of reach of the general public buying power... YRMV

The European race Falcons were prepped by Alan Mann Racing in the UK

They also prepped Lotus Cortinas, and Escorts for Rally and Circuit racing

  9. I see that this wild sectioned Falcon popped up for sale again in Fountain Green UT for $4000.

I knew I had seen it before on the HAMB... went here, and found this thread.
