My grandma with her 40 tudor when it was pretty much new. She drove it from southern Illinois to New York a few times during the war to see my grandpa that was in the navy when he was on leave. Now, people are afraid to drive their old cars sometimes. She did it by herself in her early 20's multiple times. This could be some of where I get my love for road trips and adventures.

I guess its obvious I like it a lot too.... Lol!

 

The big difference is back then, the cars were fairly new and every gas station had a mechanic on duty. They also pumped your gas, checked your oil, checked your tire pressure and cleaned your windshield.

 

True, but I still say some folks need to drive their old cars more.
