trying to be nice here... but isn't wrong a pretty harsh word for a hotrod forum???a member here told me I didn't have a clue and needed to get a Mac's catalog so I would know what parts go to what cars...they started putting 32 grilles on 31's in 32....and saying that it's not the coolest by any stretch..... kinda harsh to a guy that just got the truck...amagine the responce a guy would give you if you told them that in person....I think this forum lacks a lot of people skills...

  3. Poor choice of words on my behalf. It looks like they were going for a stock appearing truck, and if they were expecting you to pay top price for a stock truck, just wanted to point out that they are the wrong bumpers for that year. In my opinion the 51 bumpers are a lot nicer, and that is why I put them front and back on my 50 way back when I was in high school. Other option might be that they changed out the grill, but less likely. There are a lot of cool trucks on this site. Back when I posted, I didn’t think you owned the truck, but were thinking of buying it. Just giving you some food for thought or bargaining points. No disrespect intended- I did say it was a nice addition to the hamb and that I would be proud of it.

Two things wrong with the truck, the bumpers need to be white and the ***le needs to be in my name.:)

Man, there is nothing wrong with that truck I would drive the wheels of it and grin the whole time.

This is my fellow club member Dave's pickup, it's nice but yours stands tall! HRP

You missed the hamb when it wasn't politically correct, you needed the hide of a rhino, it was not for people with thin skin.

When I joined you would have thought I mooned the Pope! and all I did was posted my intro in CAPITAL LETTERS, I didn't know my **** from a hole in the ground about typing. HRP

That's a nice, neat truck. What direction are you thinking of going with the automatic transmission conversion?

So for my first... what to do....
the tires are square 7.10 15's... on the rear they sink in too far....sooo... looking in my stack I have a set of reversed wider 16's ...my though was buy 2 750's... then found out they are outof stock and not filling back orders till may......then I thought... what about 7.00's the tread on 7.00's is 1/2'' wider.... I figure when i get it lowered none of that will matter... call my tire guy and he said coker was closed till tomorrow... so maybe get lucky there.... next, wanted to do a drop axel.... but speedway sell 3'' lowering 2 leaf prings.... so no steering issues.....went ahead and ordered the springs... we'll see..

Man I love those trucks. The 51s have my favorite grill too. That’ll be a fun one.

T'hell with anyone who doesn't like it. It's a way cool truck by anyone's standards. It doesnt "need" a damn thing. I'd ride with ya anywhere in that.
So, now, like you said, make it yours!

You got that right. I lurked for 15 years before I finally joined because of so many miserable characters.

I speak english and I still don't understand half of his babbling.

Sometimes I wish the HAMB was still ruthless.

You know how much **** you would have gotten for posting pictures of a restored truck?

sometimes the rough edges sand out the impurities.

Germ was one of the many reasons I only lurked for 15 years. Being a hoodlum is one thing, but being a decent respectful human being carries a lot more weight with me.

I like the F1 much better than '46-'47 or '53-'56. I personally like the '48-'50. I love the red and as far as I'm concerned it should be a federal offense to paint a flathead V8 any color other than RED!

I love this truck! Yeah, I can see cool wheels and lowered too.

I thought you were gonna be auto trans from here on out?

I crushed my right shoulder several years ago and being hardheaded I drove my 5 speed Ford truck home to get my wife and then go to the hospital, it was difficult but I shifted with my left hand.

It wasn't the smartest thing I ever did but I did manage to drive home. HRP

this the second go round with my shoulder..first was 35 years ago, boxing shattered the 4th and 5th in my hand were they pinned it back together, allways tape up if you gonna use fists.. better off learning to fight open hand,... you can slap the wiskers off them and knock then right out of there ol converse... ruined my Rists elbows and shoulders...so now I have to call on my sons to change car battery's
when i was younger there were no cell phones and web sites... talk **** get hit was the rule..

so here's the menu... ordered the 3'' lowering front springs... so the plan is to see how that works out...I start lowering in front then drop the rear to match... I ordered the rear tires... 7.00 -16''s.. and gonna mount them on the widened ,reversed wheels I have... should be spot on.... we'll see..once i get the stance set, I'll address the rear bumper.... but for sure the shin cutting tips are going bye bye... pretty sure it will be lake pipes...
