  3. Yesterday while I was giving the rear fenders a comet bath in the backyard my neighbor comes over. Goes in the garage then yells out the door "are you going to do that speckled stuff the rest of the way up the sides ?" I say no, that's it.
He's in the doorway with a confused look then goes back in, comes out and says "I thought you put in replacement panels in the black, but why didn't you just finish the bedsides ?"
You're not the only one wondering lol

Payed a visit to the 62 Biscayne project. Did get all the rear suspension bolts tightened and the new brake line ran to the rear. Pulled the mockup transmission out and discovered I had forgotten the rear cam plug has not been installed in the engine.

I must have been a smart man not putting the flywheel on when it was mocked up.

very cool, I see a couple rare Eelco fittings on the front carbs
curious what jets you end up with
ifrc my BBC setup worked best with 10 sizes larger than stock on the big 2GCs
worst mpg but best seat of the pants power setup I ran on my big block
better than low rise 2x4, cross ram 2x4, bread box 2x4 or tunnel 2x4
plus they just look so cool

Kinda funny you say bigger because all of the old how to info published by Man a fre back in the day call for smaller than stock jets like 10 numbers smaller. These are 58 chev 283 carbs and I think the stock jets were 58's? the ones that I had been running are 50's. I have tried 48's but it surged (lean) on the freeway. I put a set of 49's in it and we will see. the plugs look a little blacker than I thought they should look. I actually get fantastic milage with this thing and have checked it at 24 mpg freeway. Which is in line with what the man a free literature used to talk about. I have a tendency to wonder about the power valves because there are only 2 cylinders making a vac signal for each carb? there is no manifold vacuum port to attach a gauge to. But there is a ported fitting, I may t a gauge into the vac adv hose and see what there is, or I guess I could t into the pcv vacuum....

they say memory is the first thing to go..
must have been 10 under then..

mine for what it's worth, twenty plus years ago, no wonder my recollection is dim..
I must have been checking plugs, the wires are not attached

If I may be so bold........
Zip Products has various Chevy (OEM) pump to carb line kits in both chrome and SS, some slight modifications but with your skills, eezy peezy.
I do see they have become a bit pricey since I last inquired.

I’ve been lucky. NAPA is the only drive to parts store to get it. Then again, it’s been a year since I last bought some.

  18. Learning facts just in time versus learning too late. I specialize in the latter but once in awhile relieved to find out critical things just in time.

Kinda wondered why I never primed the oil pump on this one. This project has been a very slow build as it isn't the owners main priority so visits can be spread out for a spell.

It would also have to pivot at the connecting point on the rear end to not bind a little

I was starting to wonder about binding myself, but then I saw that this is a Gasser.

i can't quite picture it for some reason-thought that the swing at one end and up down at other would do all the twisting

The suspension still has to work even in a gasser!

Would think it would work better if heim joints were parallel
