The 47 Mercury I bought has 2 pairs of fender skirts in the trunk . One set is longer than the other set . The shorter set was on the car at one time . The screw holes that the po drilled in them and the fenders match up . IMG_1355.jpeg IMG_1353.jpeg IMG_1354.jpeg

Mike Jang built one of my favorite pair of skirts. Like how he lowered them.

A bit more work yet and then paint to match, but they do clear, and I absolutely will be running all 4.

I've always been a big fan of fender skirts...often used them on my builds whenever appropriate.

Homemade "cruisers" on my '51 X-Tudor.

Factory Skirts on my old Lincoln 3 window.

Modified fiberglass AD pickup skirts on my wife's old grocery-getter.

Repro steel '40 Ford skirts on my Cabriolet.

My Dad hated the skirts on our '54 Chevy...I loved them. I remember him taking them off, cussing them the whole time...they never went back on.
Several years ago I saw a pic of a mild custom '46-7 Ford pickup with skirts. They didn't look too bad and it has stuck in my mind since.
Anybody have pics of pickups with skirts?:D

I ran the stock skirts on my 60 Thunderbird with the chrome wheels but took them off when I ran the Torque Thrusts. Wheels and skirts changed the look of the car.

The flush fit skirts on the Paul Harper built MS Merc are about as nice as it gets.

The skirts on his 41 Ford looked pretty good too.

While I am at it I may as well add his Cad to the mix.

  24. You will have to look up those lads with their "Bombs"- they like their pick-ups with skirts.
When asked why all my cars have skirts (or "spats" as we call them), I just refer them to an ancient Chinese proverb-
"There is no reason why a car's rear wheels need to be seen".
