The Second Annual Bicycle Build Off is going to be held at the Zettle Bros. Speed Shop May 12th 2007. For those who missed out on the fun last year these are the rules: 1. Any bicycle is allowed but it cannot have a motor. 2. Scooters are allowed. 3. This year wagons and pedal cars are also welcome.
Last year we had a budget limit of $300.00 but I think this year will make it unlimited. Also this year were to unvail the '63 Falcon straight axle altered wheelbase that we have been working on for sometime now. Hope to see you all there.

Here are some pics from last year

  5. Last year was fun! Kansas' WWII bike was my favorite. Oh, and the vintage washing machine the zettles' have turned into a cooler.

Well we kinda got the idea from talking to a guy named Melvin that we met through the Chrome Czars. We wanted to put on a show type get together to showcase what people built over the winter. We picked bicycles because we felt that way a lot more people could join in on the fun with a limited budget. Beer and Hot Dogs are the food of choice. We cook the dogs on a vintage melting pot.

Found a old trike in a barn today while redoing a electric service for a guy. I think we have our project for the build off.

I've had an old scooter sitting in the basement for years just waiting to be butchered (I mean improved). I guess that means one more project to work on this winter.

    Thanks for the invite!

Yes, they can be already built. It is going to be held at the Zettle Bros Speed Shop in Forreston, Il. Forreston is 13 miles south of Freeport or about 35 miles southwest of Rockford.

I am building a dozen of them right now in different colors and styles and the will be put into magazines and advertisements after that (for sale) so you may get to see one near you soon if someone buys one.
