I'm pretty sure that in an album or box of photos I have photos of that car from the late 70's early 80's.

Pat Barett. Pete Hirschberger originally built the car. Pat rolled the roadster over on a mountain road near Newburg OR (soft roll) and Jerry Geisler rebuilt it. I have not heard where the car has been for the last 10 years or so.

Thanks for letting us know Karl, I can understand your need and desire to retire, but sad to hear you have not found anyone to take over the business. I can attest to the quality of your fiberglass products as I have owned this 39 convertible since 2001 and the body is holding up great! Probably better than a steel body would have. I think the car was originally built back in the late 80's. I hope the mods don't cut this picture. I usually don't post pictures of this car here but post it today as a tribute to you and your fathers dedication to produce a quality product that allowed many of us that could not afford a steel version to enjoy the hobby. Although the car now has a lot of road rash and an interior that needs replacing the car still attracts a lot of attention. Wishing you all the best in your retirement!

Karl, Thanks for all of your support and help over the years. I was one of your dealers (Hill Country Performance) many years ago until I sold my shop in 1999. You and your dad always had time to answer my questions and those of our customers over the years, offering both information on your products and technical help on finding solutions to our car building escapades. When we last spoke last fall, you had mentioned that this was a possibility. I sure hope that a qualified buyer (skill-wise as well as money-wise) steps up to fill some big shoes you will leave behind.
When I sold my shop and it's inventory 26 years ago, I kept out one of your '33 roadster bodies and fender sets for myself, along with one of the TCI chassis, with plans to build it for myself. As an easily distracted builder, I finally got around to starting on it a few years ago. Here it is today, still needing more of my attention.

I wish you great success and I hope the legacy that you and your dad worked so hard to establish will continue onward. Good luck
