Ok so I recently got a 1950 plymouth special deluxe 4dr, I have got the seized motor turning by hand now. When I pulled the starter together to the flywheel I noticed the bendix seemed like it was stuck out but not all the way . Thinking it's gonna need a rebuild. I have bench tested it and runs and kicks out from where it sitting on the shat but doesn't return back all the way 20250325_204335.jpg

  2. that's normal. The way that style of starter drive works - the engine spinning faster than the pinion causes it to kick back out of engagement with the ring gear
