Big Andy brought me some gauge cups. I'm gonna make a filler panel to cover the radio hole and the holes that were cut for gauges in the dash. The rear end is 62.5 inches wide, pushed the tires out a little more. I like it. 20250315_101215.jpg 20250315_101659.jpg

  9. It looks perfect! I wished Papaw looked like your wagon in the rear wheel department, but I’ve got pizza cutter 6.50-16’s!

OK hear me out. I have a gas tank from a 72 corvette, been sitting in the back of the shop. 20 gallon tank, that was given to me. Thought I'd try it in the wagon before I left the shop this evening. I was happy that it fits, just gotta fab up some mounts. But I took the filler neck out, and the sending unit. After inspection, it has 6 or 7 pinhole's in the bottom. Question is, solder them up and pour some red kote in it? Gas tank repair epoxy and some Sealer inside? I'm sure it'll blow bigger holes in it if i try to weld them up. It's not horrible, but that one area has issues. Thoughts? You rich fuckers don't need to tell me to buy a new tank either. :p 20250328_161646.jpg

There is a body puddy might be all metal (I can look tomorrow)that gas does not effect. It works great on gas tanks. Do not put sealer in your tank, Gary

I use all metal, but i was thinking about the JB Weld tank weld. Seems to me that my best option is to solder. This car sat for years, didn't have gas in it, but that lowest portion of the tank accumulated some moisture apparently. Just trying to salvage this tank, it fits great. And the 20 gallons is a plus also.

I climbed under the car, looked at it, wiggled some stuff, got dizzy, and haven't touched it since lol... this whole month has been a complete loss due to the flu and it's lingering remnants. Honestly believe i had pneumonia. Just send that eelco you have, I'll send you a competition plus back

Cut out the section and weld in a larger plate. This way you'll get all the rust. Or at least you will be able to see if it's only rusted in one spot or if it's hopeless. Cool gauge cups!

Buy a new tank! I went down this road on a '64 Dodge. That car stranded me repeatedly with clogged up fuel filters as more crap kept comin' loose from the areas I thought were clean.

I would have the tank sandblasted to get all the rust and then solder the holes up,done a lot like this over the years and never had a problem .I have sandblasted them with gas dripping out, never had a problem with that either. They use a hot iron to melt the solder so no flame handy the old gas.
