Bought this at a swap meet yesterday and didn't have any luck on the Google. I suspect it to be British but there are no identifying markings to go on. Any ideas?
Not European or Japanese as it’s in psi and Fahrenheit. I would guess heavy equipment or industrial engine . many forklifts in the 70’s and 80’s had the quad gauges like this
they generally say IH in the middle.... where's the picture of the back of it? could be some clues hiding there in plain sight.
Google lens says it's from a Peterbuilt 377 instrument cluster, but when I Google that, this gauge doesn't come up, so....
Another possible clue: Check to see what resistance(s) cause the fuel gauge to read from "F" to "E". I assume the gauges are 12 volt. Does it have lighting? Are the bulbs 12V?
The light sockets and wires are exactly like GM used into the 1960s. The connectors also look like GM type (Packard 56). But the insulators/resistors look newer.
57 is a very common bulb used in instrument panels from the mid 50s to the 80s. Nothing special about it at all.
Just so everyone knows, this is the gauge cluster out of a 52 International truck, so now there will be no confusion about the IHC panel instruments. Good guess @squirrel, but no cigar!
No way in hell its Peterbilt, they have always had a dash full of separate SW gauges. I had a 64 pete years ago
