Ah, by Anaheim AND Brea, Ca where my friend Dave Hatchel lives.
Yes, that would have been a kick.
    Thanks JJ!

Wow! I recently came across my cam receipt for the hot rod in 1970 from Champion Speed Shop.
It was for my 327 engine when it had tunnel ram.
Head work was done by Al Baca [behind Champion].
I pinned it on my garage wall...

    Rand Man, so do I.
In fact not fond of the purple [70s] paint, should have left it in blue with the Cragars.
Won't mention a name but ==== from Cragar told us to drive to LA right now
and he'd sell them to us for $15 each. [back then].
What a deal, we left sometime after midnight, was there at the back door at 8:00am
and drove right back home, thrilled!

Yes, it sounds like a hell of a deal even back then.
I would totally go with the dark blue and the Cragars. Then you can laugh when somebody says it’s not period correct

My friend Bill has three cool cars.
I'll show one at a time.
I see him every Friday at our gathering, then at his house, then mine.
Check out his Anglia [Thames], light weight and fast., Underdog!

Here's Bill's 55 Chevy, I guess only west coast fellas know of Al's Automotive [Al Fitting] from Brisbane, Ca.
Everybody in the Bay Area had Al's lift bars in the late 60's/early 70s.

    Mad Mikey, I see you're from Pennsylvania;
in a picture I posted the other day showed my pickup in front of my uncle's house
in 1969 with a Navy buddy giving me a hand. That was Jim Montgomery [in his late70s now].
    He's from Lancaster Pennsylvania BTW.

See that? Now I have to post some more.
So Bill's brother John brought his 33 Willys to my fabricator's shop in Sebastopol, Ca after my 41 left.
Time for a Blown Injected 392 Hemi.
    Really came out nice!

Mikey, I don't see a "mail box," could it be the "envelope?"
I'm a computer idiot and need a babysitter.
Speaking of that, this is exactly why I don't dare run electronic fuel injection in my cars.
If it would break down I'd be calling a tow truck, with carburetors I can nurse it home.
    As mentioned my friend Bill has FI on his 55 Chevy, his brother John has FI on his 33 Willys;
my friend Ken has FI on his 40 Willys coupe.
Ken's is the blue steel 40 coupe below.
I get to hang out with these fellas on Friday nights; 4 steel Willys coupes,
    Mick

    Back to cars...
years ago I bought some large rear tires for the hot rod.
I found and bought them at Norm Rapp Racing Equipment at 5 Cordova St in SF.
I just googled it and see there's a conversation about him on the HAMB
and that he has sadly passed away.
Rest in Peace Norm, more history,
    Mick

Every year one of our cars leads the way for our local 4thof July Parade.
Then we have 30+ hot rod folks come back to the house for a BBQ, young and old.

Thanks Mikey, glad ya like it.
I added a few things after those photos like a steering wheel, horn, black tuck-n-roll upholstery,
red plexiglass windows , bluetooth playing Bad to the Bone by George Thorogood and the Destroyers,
seat belts, etc. Our neighbors loved it!
It made the local paper, pretty funny; I should have my head examined.
