Wow! I believe it shows our gold T roadster competing with another (and maybe winning?). I'd sure like to have a still of that as I don't have one of it in action. I'm computer stupid to pull it -- can anyone help out?
Hello, Here is the photo enhanced version from the video, as best as I could get an old fuzzy film and clear it up. Just try not to enlarge it beyond what it is, or it will be blurry again. It is the best one from the old fuzzy film. Jnaki If you want a photo by itself and no You Tube association, here is a similar one by itself. The smaller the versions, the better focus it gives.
Yeah, that's it. Thanx alot. The frame and front end were from my first "car", actually a 31 Model A pickup I bought in high school for $49. The 283" Chevy had a cross ram with lotsa 97s on it. The custom paint job was 3 cans of spray paint. We won a bar bet when we'd picked up the motor and put it in the front of my Monza -- "I just put a Chevy V-8 in my Corvair". It had a custom Harmon & Collins cam. We picked up almost a whole second when switching to a Duntov. We flat-towed it with a $85 '38 (ugly!) Chevy 4-door with 8 bolt-on taillights put on by its former low rider owner. After we'd run a few times at Fontana, they comped us for being "part of the show".
Hello, As we were in our new lifestyle futures, the college life took over for now. But, we still kept in touch with our friends involved in drag racing. The end result were a couple of builds that came to fruition during the 63-64 timeline and were Atts Ono’s immaculate 40 Willys Coupe and the Weldele/Foster Modified Sports Car. They were now our go to attractions at the drags. The other races were interesting to read and that included the FED from Scotty’s Muffler Service. We had seen the original Scotty’s Muffler Service Modified Roadster in December of 1959. It was one of the nicest drag race cars that was also a show car, too. Jnaki In looking at our files, I found some different facts about the Scotty’s Muffler Chevy FED. A different version of an old racer… 671 on a SBC motor… more power in the offering. YRMV
